CNMI Workforce Investment Agency’s Program Manager, Joseph Villacrusis, is extending an invitation to the public to visit the newly established WIA satellite office at the San Vicente Youth Center. The open house event will take place today, Thursday, Nov. 16, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Located next to the basketball court on San Vicente Loop, the satellite office aims to provide resources and training opportunities to the local community in the San Vicente, Dandan, and surrounding areas.
Villacrusis emphasized the importance of spreading awareness about the satellite office in order to make the community aware of the available training programs that can lead to sustainable employment. WIA training partners, including Island Training Solutions, will be present during the open house to provide information on enhancing workplace skills.
One of the key benefits of the San Vicente satellite office is its accessibility to residents of the area. This eliminates the need for WIA clients to travel long distances to the main office in Capital Hill to access WIA services. Villacrusis stated that minimizing barriers and challenges for the local community is a priority for WIA, and having a satellite office in San Vicente contributes to achieving this goal.
As for the training programs offered by WIA and its partners, they cover various industries including leisure and hospitality, infrastructure, care economy, environmental remediation, and mitigation. Qualified individuals can have their training costs covered by WIA.
For more information about the services and opportunities available at the WIA satellite office, interested individuals can attend the open house or contact WIA representatives at (670) 488-1710/1720 or via email at [email protected].
