U.S. Marshals and the FBI are currently searching for a 50-year-old inmate who escaped from a federal prison’s satellite camp in Prince George County, Virginia. Charles Gore, a black male standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 190 pounds, was discovered missing from the minimum-security satellite camp adjacent to the Federal Correctional Institution Petersburg on River Road at around 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday. Gore is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for attempting to distribute drugs, including heroin and cocaine. An internal investigation has been initiated, and law enforcement agencies have been notified.
The satellite camp at FCC Petersburg is a minimum-security facility and currently houses 188 offenders. It is worth noting that this is not the first incident of inmates escaping from the federal prison’s satellite campus, as over a year ago, four inmates had “walked away” from the facility.
Authorities are urging anyone with information on Gore’s whereabouts to contact the United States Marshals Service at 804-545-8501. This is a developing story, and individuals with additional information can also email [email protected] to provide tips.
