President Vladimir Putin announced on Wednesday that Russia would assist North Korea in building satellites. When questioned about discussions regarding weapons supplies, Putin stated that he and Kim Jong Un would cover all topics.

During his visit to Russia, Kim was taken by Putin to the Vostochny Cosmodrome, the country’s most advanced space rocket launch site located in eastern Russia near the Chinese border. This visit came after Kim crossed into Russia earlier in the week.

Putin welcomed Kim at Vostochny and gave him a tour of the cosmodrome, expressing his satisfaction at Kim’s visit. He also extended his congratulations on several North Korean anniversaries, including the 75th anniversary of the establishment of North Korea in 1948.

Kim, through a translator, expressed gratitude to Putin for the invitation and the warm reception he received. Throughout the tour, Kim asked Putin numerous intricate questions, indicating his keen interest in rocket engineering and space development.

Media reports state that Putin showed Kim the facility where Russia’s new space launch rocket, the Angara, is constructed. This 42.7-meter rocket is capable of launching objects into low Earth orbit.

The United States has accused North Korea of supplying arms to Russia, but the extent of any such deliveries remains unclear. Both Russia and North Korea have refuted these allegations. Nevertheless, they have pledged to strengthen their defense cooperation.

When questioned about discussions on weapons supplies, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov mentioned that neighboring countries like Russia and North Korea engage in sensitive areas of cooperation, which may not be publicly disclosed.
