Award-winning Feature Documentary on Williams Syndrome Now Available on Streaming Platforms

Former Prodigy Media, a production company co-founded by Christopher Knight and two-time Emmy Award-nominated producer Phil Viardo, has announced that their debut documentary film, “Truelove: The Film,” is now available for on-demand streaming on popular platforms in the U.S. and Canada. The film explores the rare genetic disorder called Williams syndrome.

“Truelove: The Film” follows the story of Callie Truelove, a teenager who has Williams syndrome, a genetic disorder that affects approximately 1 in every 7,500 births worldwide. Regardless of race, gender, creed, or geographic origin, Williams syndrome can have varying effects on individuals, including severe cardiovascular and developmental issues. However, it also leads to some surprising side effects, such as an innate capacity for unconditional love.

Directed by Phil Viardo, the film features appearances by Christopher Knight, Carrie Underwood, Wynonna Judd, Darius Rucker, Michael Ray, and others. It has received accolades, including the Best Documentary Feature: Audience Choice Award at the 2022 Beverly Hills Film Festival, the Audience Prize at the 2022 California Independent Film Festival, and a Special Jury Prize: The Courage Award at the 2022 Awareness Film Festival.

Former Prodigy Media is also involved in the production of “The Inventor,” an animated feature film directed by Oscar-nominated Jim Capobianco. This film stars Stephen Fry, Marion Cotillard, and Daisy Ridley, and will be released in theaters on September 15th.

The company has plans for upcoming projects, including live-action feature films and premium documentary series. “The Heart Will Break,” “Monstrosity,” and “The Empresario” are slated for production in 2024.
