Telesat and Aalyria have entered into an agreement to deploy Aalyria’s Spacetime next-generation networking technology for the Telesat Lightspeed Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation. This partnership aims to organize the efficient flow of customer traffic over the network.
Telesat Lightspeed satellites will be equipped with advanced technologies, such as digital beamforming, integrated onboard data processing, and optical inter-satellite links. These features will enhance link performance, increase network efficiency, and provide a flexible and reliable capacity for customers. Aalyria’s expertise in all-domain orchestration and management will ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of the Telesat Lightspeed network.
The 10+-year agreement allows Telesat to utilize Aalyria’s Spacetime platform. This platform analyzes millions of possible paths to find the most robust and reliable routing of customer data, autonomously evolving antenna link scheduling, dynamic network traffic routing, and spectrum resources based on changing network requirements. Spacetime employs machine learning and artificial intelligence to create a digital twin of the Earth and space, overcoming the effects of movement, atmosphere, and weather on connectivity. This new approach enables Telesat to connect its satellites with networks worldwide in ways previously not possible.
The CEO of Aalyria, Chris Taylor, expressed excitement about the partnership, highlighting the role that Aalyria’s Spacetime will play in efficiently orchestrating and managing the Telesat Lightspeed network. Telesat’s Chief Technical Officer, Dave Wendling, emphasized that Aalyria’s expertise and heritage align perfectly with Telesat’s vision for the revolutionary network.
This collaboration between Telesat and Aalyria is set to redefine the possibilities of global satellite communication and is expected to contribute to the success of the Telesat Lightspeed constellation.
