Tecno is set to enter the Flip style smartphone segment with the launch of its Phantom V Flip 5G. The smartphone is scheduled to launch on September 22 at the TECNO Flagship Product Launch in Singapore. While there is no confirmation on whether the device will make its way to India, it is highly likely considering Tecno’s previous launch of the Phantom V Fold 5G in the country.
Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G: Specs
The Google Play Console recently revealed some specifications of the Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G. The leak suggests that the device will have 8GB RAM and run on Android 13 operating system. It will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC, paired with ARM Mali G77 GPU. The listing also indicates a full-HD+ display with a resolution of 1,080×2,640 pixels and a pixel density of 480ppi.
Rumored specifications suggest that the device will feature a 6.9-inch AMOLED full-HD+ primary display and a 1.32-inch AMOLED cover display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. The chipset is expected to be the Dimensity 1300 SoC. In terms of cameras, it is likely to have a dual camera setup at the rear, consisting of a 64-megapixel primary sensor and a 13-megapixel secondary sensor. The front camera is rumored to be 32-megapixels. The device is expected to pack a 4,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging.
Competition
If the Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G arrives in India, it will face competition from other brands already operating in the foldable smartphone segment, including Motorola, Oppo, and Samsung. Competitors in the market include the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and the Oppo Find N2 Flip. Based on the specifications, the device is expected to compete more closely with the Motorola Razr 40, which is a cheaper flip foldable option.
