SES Announces Capacity Deal with UKTV

SES and UKTV have recently announced a multi-year capacity deal. The agreement extends their capacity agreement at SES’s TV neighborhood at 28.2 degrees East until the end of the decade.

As part of the deal, SES will provide new uplinking and ground services in addition to a renewed transponder for UKTV’s bouquet of channels. This will also give UKTV the flexibility to add more channels in the future and expand their offerings.

Andrew Kemp, Head of Operations at UKTV, expressed his satisfaction with the extended agreement. He stated that they have relied on SES for the distribution of their video content for many years and are pleased to continue the partnership.

Kemp emphasized the importance of a reliable and high-quality satellite distribution system across the UK and Ireland as they strengthen and invest in their linear business.

The specific terms of the deal, such as duration and financial details, have not been disclosed. However, this development further solidifies the existing partnership between SES and UKTV, ensuring continued access to SES’s TV neighborhood at 28.2 degrees East and expansion opportunities for UKTV.
