Residential homeowners in Australia can now purchase refurbished Starlink kits at a discounted price

From now until January 1, 2024, residential homeowners in Australia have the opportunity to purchase refurbished Starlink kits at a significantly reduced price of $299. This is a 50% discount from the original cost of $599 when the hardware was first introduced in Australia in 2021.

Starlink is becoming a popular alternative internet option for those who are dissatisfied with the NBN or are unable to access a stable 4G or 5G home wireless connection, particularly in regional and rural areas.

In addition to the hardware, customers will need to subscribe to a Starlink plan, which costs $139 per month. There is also a $30 shipping and handling fee to receive the kit.

While the Starlink plans may seem expensive compared to Satellite NBN, they offer faster speeds and greater reliability. Satellite NBN plans have maximum download speeds of 12Mbps, 25Mbps, and 100Mbps, depending on the speed tier.

Starlink’s coverage now extends to all of Australia, as indicated in the official coverage map. Homeowners can check the availability of coverage for their address by visiting the Starlink website.

To support the Starlink satellites in orbit, there are 20 Starlink ground stations located throughout Australia in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Victoria, and Western Australia.

For those interested in Elon Musk’s satellite internet service, the discounted Starlink kits provide an attractive opportunity to access fast and reliable internet connectivity in Australia.
