Satellite High Football Gains Momentum with Back-to-Back Wins

When Satellite High School faced off against Melbourne for a football game last Friday night, it marked almost one year since their last matchup. The outcome of the game was vastly different from the previous year, as Satellite dominated with a score of 25-8.

Head coach Brian Helton expressed his confidence before the game, noting that the team was motivated to prove themselves after a defeat by Melbourne the previous year. The Scorpions displayed their skill on both offense and defense throughout the game, with quarterback Ethan Rafaele throwing two touchdown passes, one to Eric Weeza and the other to Tristan White. Seth Hufty made a significant contribution to the defense with an interception that he returned for a score.

This victory follows two consecutive wins for Satellite, providing a much-needed boost after an initial loss against Heritage. They rallied to defeat Viera in a close match, with a final score of 29-28. Although they trailed Viera 28-14 at halftime, the Scorpions’ defense tightened up in the second half, not allowing any additional points. White’s two 13-yard TD runs in the third and fourth quarters secured the victory for Satellite.

With a 2-1 record and the momentum of a winning streak, Satellite will face an undefeated Eau Gallie team in their next game. Eau Gallie has been a strong force, shutting out Winter Haven 35-0 and only allowing 16 points in their three games.

Coach Helton emphasized the importance of addressing mistakes and refining their techniques in practice. Additionally, he emphasized the team’s unity and the importance of supporting one another on and off the field.

Satellite High School is looking to maintain their momentum as they face their next challenge, ready to build upon their recent successes.
