It has been officially announced that the release of director Prashanth Neel’s highly anticipated film, Salaar, has been postponed from September 28 to a later date. This action entertainer, produced by Hombale Films, the makers of the KGF franchise, features Prabhas, Shruti Haasan, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles. The postponement of Salaar has resulted in changes to release plans for several films across different industries.

While there are reports suggesting that the film may be released in November or December, a final decision on the release date of Salaar is yet to be made.

Meanwhile, trusted sources have revealed that the OTT (Over-The-Top) and satellite rights deals for Salaar have been finalized. Netflix, known for its aggressive acquisition of Telugu films, is said to have acquired the streaming rights for a substantial amount. According to reports, the deal with Netflix is estimated to be valued between Rs 170 crore and Rs 200 crore for the Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada languages.

On the other hand, the Star Network is believed to have secured the satellite rights for Salaar in all five languages, including Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Tamil. However, the details of the satellite rights deal have not been disclosed publicly.

Salaar will be released in two parts, with the first part titled “Salaar Part 1: Cease Fire.” Apart from the lead cast, the film also features Tinnu Anand, Jagapathi Babu, Sriya Reddy, Easwari Rao, Saptagiri, and Brahmaji in crucial roles. The music for Salaar is composed by Ravi Basrur, while Bhuvan Gowda serves as the cinematographer and Ujwal Kulkarni as the editor.

Apart from Salaar, Prashanth Neel is set to collaborate with Jr NTR for a project produced by Mythri Movie Makers. Prabhas, after Salaar, will be seen in the futuristic tale Kalki 2898 AD, Maruthi’s horror comedy, and Spirit, a cop saga directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
