Prof Vivek Lal, Director of PGIMER, recently visited the satellite centre in Una along with his engineering team to oversee the progress of the OPD block. The centre is expected to start functioning by March 2024. During his visit, Prof Lal also toured the Civil Hospital in Una, where the PGI satellite centre OPD is currently operational.

During his visit, Prof Lal had the opportunity to interact with OPD patients and conduct examinations. The satellite centre aims to provide a range of specialty services under one roof, which will be greatly beneficial to patients from Himachal Pradesh and the surrounding districts of Una. The project is expected to cater to the healthcare needs of a large population in the region.

Accompanying Prof Lal were Dr BR Mittal, Professor Incharge of Engineering, and Dr Rajeev Chauhan, Nodal Officer for the satellite centre in Una. Their presence underscores the commitment of PGIMER to ensuring the success and effectiveness of the satellite centre.
