Now Corp. Partners with German Satellite Communications Company for Next-Generation Connectivity Network

NOW Corp. has announced a partnership with a German-based satellite communications company to establish a cutting-edge connectivity network in the Philippines. Through a memorandum of understanding with Rivada Space Networks, NOW Corp. will utilize their low-latency point-to-point connectivity network, which consists of 600 low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites.

The primary goal of this collaboration is to enhance connectivity network performance and improve security. Rivada, headquartered in Germany, will provide NOW Corp. with digital solutions to deliver high-quality voice, video, and data services to enterprises, ensuring a secure infrastructure.

By linking and securing critical infrastructures in the Philippines, NOW Corp. aims to offer the most reliable and secure connectivity to its target market. Henry Andrews B. Abes, President and CEO of NOW Corp., expressed this intention, highlighting the company’s commitment to providing advanced solutions in the country.

Rivada’s low-latency connectivity network utilizes advanced inter-satellite laser links, leveraging onboard processing to enable routing, switching, and wireless free-space optical communication.

Following the announcement, NOW Corp.’s stock price experienced a positive response. On Wednesday, shares in the company closed 4.76% higher at P1.32 each at the local bourse.

This partnership represents a significant step towards establishing a next-generation connectivity network in the Philippines, leveraging the expertise of a leading German satellite communications company. This collaboration has the potential to revolutionize connectivity for enterprises and contribute to the overall development of the country’s telecommunications infrastructure.
