L3Harris Technologies has secured a five-year contract worth $125.1 million from the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). The contract requires L3Harris to provide spares and repair parts for very small aperture terminal (VSAT) transmission systems that the company previously built.
The DLA awarded the contract on a sole-source basis through an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity agreement. According to the Department of Defense, the work is expected to be completed by September 24, 2028.
Funding for the contract will come from the U.S. Army’s working capital funds, specifically for fiscal years 2023 through 2028.
VSATs are crucial for providing satellite-based communications to military and government customers, among others. L3Harris Technologies specializes in various VSAT capabilities, including the Hawkeye, DarkWing, Panther, and Shadow technologies.
This contract not only strengthens L3Harris Technologies’ position as a trusted provider of communication systems but also highlights their expertise in delivering reliable and advanced VSAT technology.
With this contract in place, L3Harris will continue to support and enhance the satellite-based communication capabilities of their customers, ensuring reliable and efficient communication in critical operations and situations.
