Satellite internet company Starlink, operated by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, is facing potential penalties after failing to specify the end date of a “limited time offer” on its website. The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has issued an order for Starlink to comply with the Telecommunications Consumer Protections (TCP) Code, which requires transparency in advertising promotions.

The investigation conducted by ACMA between June 1 and July 26, 2023, discovered that Starlink’s promotion, which included discounted hardware and high-speed internet plans, did not indicate an end date as required by the TCP Code.
