On Wednesday evening, border guards from the ground handling services at Kaunas Airport received a report of a disruptive passenger on a flight arriving from London. It was reported that this passenger was drinking alcohol during the flight, ignoring the crew’s instructions, swearing, and displaying aggressive behavior. According to the aircraft captain, the man was openly drinking whiskey from a bottle and refused to surrender it when asked.
According to the State Border Guard Service (SBGS), the heavily intoxicated passenger posed a threat to other individuals, the flight crew, and the safety of the flight. The border guards were called upon to assist in apprehending the hooligan.
Once the plane landed, the unruly passenger was detained by the border guards, escorted to the border control area, and locked in a temporary holding room. SBGS officials determined that the 46-year-old resident of Kaunas District had displayed inappropriate behavior on the aircraft.
Approximately an hour later, the border guards handed over the detainee to police officers who had arrived at the airport. The police will further investigate this incident.
