Honor is preparing to launch its upcoming Honor Magic 6 series, which is expected to include both a base and a Pro model. This new release will follow the Honor Magic 5 series, which was unveiled earlier this year in February at the MWC 2023 event in Barcelona, Spain.
Although the company has not yet officially announced the release date, some key details about the new models have been confirmed. At an event in China, an Honor official revealed that the smartphones are likely to feature upgraded capabilities.
Honor CEO Zhao Ming shared a Weibo post from Honor General Manager Li Kun, who mentioned that the company has made significant progress in the area of satellite communication. This announcement was made at the 2023 Digital Ecosystem Satellite Mobile Communications Industry Development Forum in China. Kun explained that Honor’s new work has resolved issues related to antenna size, call duration, and overall communication experience. The smartphones are expected to offer a seamless experience with the smallest antenna size, the most stable signal, and the most power-efficient operation.
According to a tipster known as Digital Chat Station, the Honor Magic 6 lineup is rumored to come equipped with miniaturized satellite chips featuring low-power call and heat dissipation technology. It is also speculated that the Oppo Find X7 series models will also include these chips.
Honor had previously confirmed that the Magic 6 series will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoCs. The smartphones will also introduce the Magic Capsule feature, which resembles Apple’s Dynamic Island. This feature claims to enable users to open apps or interact with content simply by staring at the specific location on the screen. Additionally, the series will come with an AI-supported chatbot named Yoyo, which is said to function similarly to Google’s Bard.
The official release date of the Honor Magic 6 series is still unknown, and more details are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
