Chinese smartphone manufacturer HONOR is set to make a comeback in India by launching its latest smartphone, the HONOR 90 5G, on September 14. This device, which was initially announced globally in May 2023, will be brought to India by HTech, the company with exclusive rights to sell HONOR handsets in the country.
The HONOR 90 5G boasts a 6.7-inch “Quad-Curved Floating Display” with a resolution of 1.5K and peak brightness of 1,600 nits. Notably, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has a peak brightness of 1,750 nits, while the iPhone 14 Pro models reach 2,000 nits.
In terms of camera specifications, the device will feature a 200-MP primary sensor in the rear camera setup and a 50MP lens as the front-facing selfie camera. The smartphone will house a 5,000 mAh battery, reportedly supporting 66W fast charging. It will be available in 8 GB and 12 GB RAM options, with storage options up to 512GB. Additionally, HONOR claims that the device can utilize up to 5 GB and 7 GB of turbo RAM, reaching a maximum of 19 GB.
The smartphone is expected to be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset and will run on MagicOS 7.1, which is based on Android 13. According to the Amazon landing page, the HONOR 90 5G will be offered in silver, black, and green colors. The price range is anticipated to fall between Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000.
HTech, previously known as HonorTech, has partnered with PSAV Global to market HONOR smartphones in India. Led by former realme India CEO Madhav Sheth, HTech plans to invest Rs 1,000 crore in India.
