Bijie, located in the northwestern part of Guizhou, offers a humid subtropical monsoon climate with a cool summer and mild winter. The region is blessed with stunning natural beauty, including endless mountains, lush forests, blue skies, and vast grasslands, making it a microcosm of Guizhou’s ecology. This favorable environment attracts more than 100,000 birds that migrate to the Caohai National Nature Reserve in Weining, Bijie every winter. As a result, Bijie continuously draws tourists from all over the world.
In an episode of the short video series “Be My Guest ยท Modern Guizhou,” Mohamed Jihad Mohamed, an Egyptian international student who recently graduated from the Broadcasting Host major at the Communication University of China, visits Bijie for his unique graduation trip. Mohamed received an invitation from his friend, Yan Jun, a Guizhou travel blogger, to explore Bijie together.
During their trip, they visited Huawu Village, where they admired the crystal-clear swimming pool created from mountain springs. They also ventured to Axilixi and experienced the steppe, camped in Gonglongping National Forest Park in Bijie, and even had a thrilling experience riding mountain motorcycles. They did not miss the opportunity to visit Weining Grass Sea to witness the migratory birds and listen to the stories shared by bird protectors.
Mohamed Jihad Mohamed, captivated by the breathtaking scenery of Bijie, expressed his desire to compose poetry inspired by its beauty. Having lived in China for four years and developed a love for Chinese traditional culture, Mohamed hopes to bring his family to Guizhou in the future to experience the ecological wonders of Bijie.
