Bijie, located in the northwestern part of Guizhou, has a humid subtropical monsoon climate with a cool summer and mild winter. It boasts endless mountains, lush forests, blue skies, and vast grasslands, making it a microcosm of Guizhou’s ecology. Every winter, over 100,000 birds flock to Caohai National Nature Reserve in Weining, Bijie. This thriving ecological environment attracts tourists from around the world.
The short video series “Be My Guest ยท Modern Guizhou” brings foreign friends to Guizhou through reality shows to showcase their real lives in the region. In one episode, Mohamed Jihad Mohamed, an Egyptian international student who recently graduated from the Communication University of China, visits Bijie on a unique graduation trip. His friend, Yan Jun, a Guizhou travel blogger, invites him to explore the area.
During their trip, they visit Huawu Village to marvel at the crystal-clear swimming pool fed by mountain springs. They venture to the steppe in Axilixi, camp in Gonglongping National Forest Park, Bijie, and experience the excitement of mountain motorcycles. They also visit Weining Grass Sea to observe migrating birds and hear the stories of bird protectors.
An enamored Mohamed Jihad Mohamed, who has lived in China for four years and appreciates Chinese traditional culture, describes Bijie’s scenery as so beautiful that it inspires him to chant a poem. He hopes to bring his family to Guizhou in the future to experience the ecological beauty of Bijie.
