Exascale Expanding Fibre Network Further South

Shropshire-based UK ISP and alternative network provider Exascale is extending their gigabit-capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network build to the south of Telford & Wrekin. Exascale has already established their own network, connecting approximately 2,000 premises predominantly in Telford and Wrekin.

Exascale has been gradually expanding its Dark Fibre and FTTP network, starting with the northern part of Telford and recently expanding to West Bromwich. They have also utilized gigabit vouchers to reach some smaller rural areas.

The company aims to connect both urban and rural homes and businesses as part of this expansion. Exascale’s CEO, Thomas Bibb, expressed excitement about the project and the challenges it presents amidst the current economic circumstances faced by businesses and consumers in the UK. The expansion scheme is funded through demand, in collaboration with local developers and government initiatives.

While the announcement does not specify the locations targeted for expansion or the number of premises to be reached, Exascale’s commitment to extending their fibre network is set to benefit customers in the south of Telford & Wrekin.
