E-Space, a company specializing in hyper-scaled deployments of IoT solutions and services, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Beyon Group to enable space-based IoT services in the Kingdom of Bahrain. This collaboration was announced during the 31st Arab Spectrum Management Group Meeting held in Manama from September 9 to 14, 2023.
Beyon is focused on exploring opportunities in the IoT sector as part of Bahrain’s Vision 2030 initiative for the digital economy. By partnering with E-Space, the organizations will work together to develop satellite IoT solutions that utilize Beyon’s network capabilities and E-Space’s low Earth orbit (LEO) constellation and device capabilities. The goal is to create unique IoT solutions that provide uninterrupted, real-time IoT data services that can be used anywhere.
Mikkel Vinter, CEO of Beyon, emphasized the potential of combining terrestrial and space communications to offer continuous coverage and advanced IoT services across various sectors. The collaboration with E-Space is expected to facilitate the discovery of new business models and accelerate the proliferation of innovative applications, contributing to Bahrain’s digital economy.

The MOU was signed during the Arab Spectrum Management Group Meeting by Mikkel Vinter and Amy Mehlman, Vice President of Global Affairs and Stakeholder Relations at E-Space.
