Prof. Vivek Lal, Director of PGIMER, recently visited Satellite Centre Una accompanied by his engineering team. The purpose of the visit was to assess the progress made towards the functioning of the OPD block, which is expected to be operational by March 2024.

During the visit, Dr. Vivek Lal, a renowned Neurologist and Head of the Neurology department at PGIMER Chandigarh, also took the opportunity to interact with the OPD patients at Civil Hospital Una, where the PGI satellite centre OPD is currently functioning. He examined several patients and gained valuable insights into their healthcare needs.

The establishment of the Satellite Centre Una will greatly benefit the patients of Himachal Pradesh in the near future. This comprehensive healthcare facility will offer a wide range of specialty services under one roof. It aims to cater to the healthcare needs of the adjoining districts, acting as a barrier to patient referrals to PGI Chandigarh.

Accompanying Prof. Vivek Lal on the visit were Dr. B.R. Mittal, Professor in charge of engineering, and Dr. Rajeev Chauhan, the Nodal officer for Satellite Centre Una. Their presence highlights the collaboration and expertise necessary for the successful establishment of the OPD block.
