Cunard Introduces New Wi-Fi Service Powered by SpaceX’s Starlink

Cunard has announced the launch of a new Wi-Fi service on its fleet, powered by SpaceX’s Starlink. Starlink, known for its Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology, will provide Cunard guests with enhanced capacity, ensuring a more reliable and faster Wi-Fi connection.

The roll-out of Starlink began in June 2023 and is available on all three Cunard ships: Queen Mary 2, Queen Victoria, and Queen Elizabeth. By the end of 2023, the service will be accessible in both public spaces and staterooms on these ships. Additionally, Cunard’s newest ship, Queen Anne, will launch with Starlink in May 2024.

Cunard President Katie McAlister expressed the significance of staying connected with loved ones while on holiday. The improved Wi-Fi service offered by Starlink will make it easier for guests and crew to share unforgettable moments and stay up to date with news, live events, and content from home.

Jonathan Hofeller, Starlink’s vice president of commercial sales, emphasized the importance of high-speed internet in modern life. He expressed excitement that Cunard guests and crew will benefit from an improved Wi-Fi service no matter where they are in the world.
