Enhancing Development in Arunachal Pradesh through Advanced Science and Technology

During a meeting between Union Minister of Earth Sciences Kiren Rijiju and the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. KT Parnaik, on September 16, discussions were held regarding the utilization of advanced science and technology for developmental initiatives in the state. The meeting focused on the use of satellite data to enhance agricultural and horticultural production, monitor infrastructure development, and observe areas prone to natural disasters.

Arunachal Pradesh faces numerous challenges such as heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, cyclonic winds, hailstorms, cloudbursts, and floods. In light of this, Governor Parnaik proposed the establishment of an observation center within the state. This center would serve as a platform for sharing information and technologies related to earth system science, benefiting the socio-economic development of the region.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju expressed his commitment to providing the necessary support and assistance to Arunachal Pradesh, aligning with the objectives discussed during the meeting.

With the application of advanced science and technology, Arunachal Pradesh can enhance its agricultural and horticultural productivity, improve infrastructure development, and better prepare for natural disasters. The establishment of an observation center and geophysical exploration activities can further contribute to the region’s socio-economic development.

The meeting between the Union Minister of Earth Sciences and the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh highlights the importance of collaboration and the use of scientific advancements to drive development in the state.
