Alexa Users Can Save Time with Follow-Up Mode

Since its release in 2014, Amazon’s Alexa has become a leading AI assistant. Over the years, new features have been added to this multifunctional device, allowing users to order food, create grocery lists, make announcements in other rooms, and more. However, constantly waking up Alexa to give commands can be repetitive and annoying.

To address this issue, Alexa offers a feature called Follow-Up Mode. This mode eliminates the need to repeat Alexa’s name for every command. To activate it, follow these steps:

1. Open the Alexa app and tap on “Devices” at the bottom.
2. Select your device from the list.
3. Scroll down and toggle on the “Follow-Up Mode” option.

Once enabled, you can have a seamless conversation with Alexa without the hassle of continuously saying her name.

In addition to Follow-Up Mode, there are other useful tools available to enhance your experience with Alexa. One such tool is the ability to assign a PIN code for voice purchases. This feature is beneficial, especially if you have children, as it prevents unintended purchases. To set up a PIN code, open the Alexa app and go to Settings > Account Settings > Voice Purchasing. From there, you can add a PIN to the “Require Voice Code” field.

Another convenient feature is using Alexa to find your phone. Simply say, “Alexa, Find my phone,” and Alexa will call your phone, helping you locate it by following the ringtone. Before using this feature, ensure that you have confirmed your phone number in the Alexa app.

These tips and features can enhance your interactions with Alexa, making it even more powerful and efficient in assisting you with various tasks.
