AAA has announced an exciting partnership with Apple that will offer unique and life-saving assistance. Apple will provide Emergency Roadside Service for iPhone users in remote locations, using their new iPhone 15 and iPhone 14 models. These phones will have the capability to connect to Roadside Assistance through satellite, even in areas where Wi-Fi or cellular service is unavailable.
The aim of this collaboration is to ensure the safety of individuals in hilly and rural areas, where it may be challenging to call for help in the event of a breakdown. Lori Weaver Hawkins, Public Affairs Manager with AAA Bluegrass, emphasized that the goal is to provide accessible Roadside Services to everyone.
To request Roadside Assistance, iPhone users will need to answer a few questions before being connected to AAA via satellite. They will also receive guidance on how to stay connected while using the service. This extension of support is not limited to AAA members; it is available to both members and non-members, including other iPhone users.
Non-members who require this service will be required to pay a fee after completing the questionnaire. Once the questionnaire is filled out, individuals will be connected to a satellite immediately. The Emergency SOS via satellite technology was introduced by Apple in 2022.
AAA is also pleased to offer non-members discounts and other services at a reduced cost. This partnership between AAA and Apple aims to enhance the safety and convenience for iPhone users, particularly those in remote areas. With the use of advanced satellite technology, help will be just a phone call away, regardless of limited connectivity.
