HMD Global, the company behind Nokia phones, has launched the Nokia G42 5G smartphone in India. The smartphone is available in two colors, So Purple and So Grey, and comes with a 128GB configuration. It will be sold on Amazon India starting September 15th at a launch price of Rs 12,599. This move marks HMD’s entry into the affordable 5G smartphone market segment below Rs 15,000.
The Nokia G42 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 480 Plus 5G chipset and offers two years of guaranteed OS upgrades. Nokia claims that the phone has undergone extensive durability testing, including more than double the number of drop tests compared to its previous G50 model.
In terms of specifications, the smartphone boasts an impressive three-day battery life and is capable of enduring 800 full charging cycles. It features an 11/128GB configuration (6GB physical RAM + 5GB Virtual RAM) and a 6.56HD+ 90Hz Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display with a brightness of 450 nits. The camera setup is also impressive, with a 50MP AF Main Camera.
The Nokia G42 5G focuses on sustainability, as it is constructed with a 2-piece Unibody and a back cover made from 65% recycled plastic. It comes with a 20W Fast charger, cable, and a jelly case included in the box.
To ensure durability, the Nokia G42 5G has undergone rigorous testing, including 14 drop tests on various sides and surfaces.
Overall, the Nokia G42 5G aims to provide a package deal at a lower cost while offering a sustainable and long-lasting 5G experience.
